Experience

Hildara Araya is an editor, prenatal educator, and mother of three. She has a master’s degree in journalism and over 15 years of experience as a writer and editor focusing primarily on parenting, education, e-commerce, and sustainability.

Before joining the Verywell Family commerce team, Hildara was the news and deals e-commerce editor for Parents.com and Health.com, where she specialized in researching products and finding the best deals to help parents save time and money.

Hildara is also a prenatal educator and a member of theInternational Childbirth Education Association(ICEA), an organization that aims to provide family-centered education in order “to promote the freedom of choice based on knowledge of alternatives in childbirth.” During her bimonthly prenatal education sessions at a local non-profit in Austin, Texas, Hildara seeks to dispel myths, provide comfort through education, and empower families to become active participants in their birthing process. She describes this as one of the most fulfilling roles she has done and considers it an honor to be allowed to help expecting families in her community.
